A Visit To The Cloud Forest

We visited the Gardens By The Bay for the second Saturday in a row. (I will be posting about the second visit first. Why, you ask? Why not? :p In all seriousness, I have no idea.) On previous visits, we had visited both Domes on the same day, with a kunch break between Domes. However, that usually resulted in the children being too tired, so either they slept through the Cloud Forest, or were cranky throughout. Breaking up the Domes into two separate visits was a much better idea. This way, the children were alert throughout and could fully appreciate and enjoy wach Dome.

First, we stopped by a tree trunk with giant ants on it.

This time, we visited the Cloud Forest. We were greeted by The Falls. I tried to take a nice photo of the kids in front of it. I got this.

So I tried again.
And got this.

So I tried again.
I guess that'll do.

Moving along, I tried to get a photo of them in front of the wall of greenery.

I gave up and decided to take pictures of inanimate objects instead.

Then We came across a cute truck made of plants.

As instructed, we went right to the top and made our way down.

"Mummy, is this glass?"

"No! It's water. Look what happens when I blow on it!"

Mid-way down, we came across a display of stalactites and stalagmites. It was rather impressive. Little Man was very interested. I'd love to bring them to real limestone caves someday. The ones in Western Australia are very nice.

"Look, Mummy! There are three of us!"

I did not even notice the fish on the end of this beautiful chair until I edited this photo.

I'm glad I decided to split the visit into two separate days. The children finally got to see the Cloud Forest and enjoy it.

Little Man: 4 years 8 months
Little Lady: 2 years 6 months

  1. I like that he thought to blow on the water instead of touching it.
